Three Unique Summer Writing Camps
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:
Advancing Young Minds through Creative Writing, Grades 4 – 6
Instructor:
This class will allow upcoming 4th-7th grade students to explore and express themselves through creative writing. They will explore ideas through narrative writing, poetry, memoir, and other exciting forms. This class will help them put ideas onto paper and create pieces of writing they can be proud of.
Essay Writing, Grades 5 – 9
Instructor:
In Essay writing, students will learn the art of persuasive and narrative writing with an emphasis on writing for formal writing tests. Students will gain experience responding to prompts in engaging and unique ways while prewriting, writing, revising, drafting, and presenting their work both individually and in groups.
Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy, Grades 6 – 9
Instructor:
In Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy, students will build detailed worlds, create vivid characters, and develop exciting stories. Students will read models of science fiction and fantasy and work together to prewrite, write, revise, and present their work, establishing a close-knit community of young writers.
